Can you remember a hobby you enjoyed as a child? Something you did for hours when allowed to? That activity which if you could you would drop everything just for a chance to run away and do it now? That’s it!
Whether making model airplanes, playing in the garden, or painting the next art master piece for placement on the kitchen refrigerator today’s the day to take an hour to do it. No paint, no problem, get to the art store and buy some. No car part for that on-going rebuild? Again, no problem I’m sure you can think of where you need to go to find it.
Granted, if you don’t have your hobby on hand waiting for you right now this one might be a little tricky. However, if you can’t get everything set up today, I hope you can at least move towards doing so today. As you might expect, when leaders take the time to feed their inner creative they come back to the workplace better equipped to lead others in doing so.
So today, take an hour to create, play, or whatever floats your hobby boat. I know…today’s challenge runs 55 minutes over – oh well…
